wtf CT
There seems to be shockingly little available to CT residents in terms of alternatives to giving birth screaming in a hospital bed. At least on this half of the state. No water births, no non-hospital setting birthing centers. Not that insurance would cover such a thing. No hypnobirth classes... The two nearest hospitals are almost identical in services. Neither of them have a tub in the whole ward. I couldn't even labor in the water, never mind deliver. Unless I want to sit in the shower for 36 hours which misses at least half the point of a water birth. I think I'm too chicken to do it at home. For one I don't think I could cut the cord ;P. Wonder how much it costs to get a midwife to come out...
